CHEMICAL STABILIZATION – ALTONORTE SMELTER FACILITIES
The Project involved Identifying, Characterizing and Demarcating Soils needing Chemical Stabilization and a Technical-Economic Feasibility Study of potential stabilization measures. The study was developed as part of the Closure Plan of the Alto Norte Smelter facilities, in La Negra, Region II. It included the design, on a Conceptual Engineering level, of the stabilization measures as input for the regulatory approval of the Closure Plan
The Project envisaged a characterization of the cost effective measures in order to comply with the Closure Plan for the facilities to prevent any adverse effects and ensure the protection of the life, health and safety of people and the environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLANS
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR SOIL & WASTE
PASCUA LAMA PROJECT
The Project established written guidelines describing the prevention, control and mitigation actions, measures and works that will be implemented as part of the development of the Pascua Lama Project. The guidelines were developed in line with the environmental assessment processes of the Pascua Lama Project and its associated installations in both Argentina and Chile and are part of the Project’s Environmental Management System.
Additionally, the Project defined the accountability of the different Project-related operational units, established compliance and performance indicators for each of the Environmental Management Plan measures, including a detail of the steps to be taken in case of a possible contingency, and the scope and description of the content of the reports to be produced as part of the Environmental Management Plans.
